TMI ALERT!!!!!!!

I had my first ever scare during pregnancy...

First off if you can't handle a little blood and gore than you may want to steer clear of this posting!!

This weekend was a fantastic busy weekend, we had so much going on and I feel like we are NEVER going to slow down! But however busy it was just keep in mind it was a fantastic one! Friday we didn't do too much, at the last minute we or I should technically say I decided to go to the Highland Drive Church consignment sale to see what kind of winter clothes I could find for Hannah.  We ended up getting 5 or 6 outfits and a 4 pack of 6 ounce bottles (Advance Playtex I think) for $22 bucks! The outfits were barely used and the bottles look new! Afterwards we headed to Homeplace to grab a bite to eat and let me tell you they have amazing food, we haven't eaten there in quite sometime since it's about 15 or 20 minutes from our house but it was as good as I remembered! We called it an early night.

Saturday we got up and ran a few errands grabbed a bite to eat for breakfast and then I was off to a bridal luncheon for my friend Meredith! It was a wonderful time and I was so glad to catch up with girlfriends I hadn't seen in a couple weeks! That ended about 2 or 2:30 I got home, changed and we headed to Babies R Us.  I don't think I have ever been to Babies R Us where they had racks of clothes for $5 dollars and under so I started digging around and found some really cute sleepers for Olivia when we bring her home and once she is home.  We then headed to my cousins little boy's 1st birthday that was at Highland Drive Park.  We had such a great time playing with all the kids and watching Hannah slide down the sliding board 1,320 times! She had a blast! So I was happy!

Sunday we did our usual went to church arrived on time late, had lunch and then we celebrated my brothers birthday that night with grilled chicken, grilled asparagus, salad, steamed corn and potatoes! (By the way I am so digging this health kick my parents are on!) The food was heaven!

So now that you got a good idea of what my weekend was like (I didn't want to talk about all bad stuff) I will go ahead and get to the scare that I had starting Sunday night.... Again this is a TMI alert... Don't read past this if you are squeamish!

Sunday night we got home from my parents house and I did our usual routine of baths and then bed time and when I got ready for my shower I realized I saw what looked like dried blood in my underwear.  I called my sister, who called her nurse friend and said that it was probably normal but to call my DR in the morning.  I could barely get any rest that night from all the tossing and turning I was doing.  In my opinion 8:30 a.m. couldn't get there quick enough.  Finally when I heard the alarm go off I was up and getting ready, I have class on Monday mornings so I didn't have to leave my house until 6:30.  I decided to use the bathroom really quick before I left, when I went again I found more drops of blood... Now I really couldn't wait to speak with my doctor to find out what was causing this!  When I finally talked to a triage nurse she told me that it was probably a blood vessel that had broken on my cervix and not to be too worried because I wasn't having any serious cramping.  I was totally happy with that explanation until I got to work at 11 and saw even more blood than previously!! Like I needed to wear a pad! I called my doctor immediately and they made me an appointment, I got to my doctor's office and waited to be seen.  The doctor was wonderful she checked my cervix to make sure no dilation had occurred and she did a quick pelvic exam to make sure her suspicions were correct.  I got dressed and the doctor returned, she said that the spotting was from what she could tell the weight of the baby and most likely s.e.x....(don't you judge) ha! To make things clear we are not sex addicts! (haha) So with that being said who knew that pressure from the baby and sex could cause such a thing!?! So I was ordered to take things easy for the next few weeks and to refrain from having sex for a while too... I cant believe I'm discussing my sex life on my blog but for you mom's and future mom's know that it IS possible! :) So after that little scare I think it is safe to say that I wont mind taking things "easy" for the next few weeks!

I hope you all have a GREAT day! And I hope that my post hasn't bothered you too terribly much! But honestly you shouldn't have read it... I gave you fair warning! :)) lol

Tears....

My blog has mainly been about baby Olivia lately, but with all of these teachers, mom's, and students going back to school this year has made me a bit more emotional than last year.  Why? Well, the only reason I can figure is that with me having my own little girl (who seems to be growing so fast, if you hadnt noticed) knows how quickly time passes and I know it will be like 3 and 1/2 years from now but I see how the last 2 years have passed us by! I am very obviously excited to be in with all the rush; packing lunches, buying school supplies, meeting teachers, and finally that walk down the hall way to my baby girls first classroom ever.  I already know that I will be a nervous wreck that day and I may cry my eyes out because I can see her saying "momma, I've got this... this is big girl school".  I guess that would be better than her clinging to my legs for dear life begging me not to leave her with a room full of strangers...
Who knew that such a little person can have such a huge impact on your life?

I vaguely remember my first day of kindergarden and I absolutely dreaded it!  I remember I had just had my hair cut (off).  The reason being I was such a momma's girl I wanted to look just like her... Well short hair on me looked much more different than it looked on her!!! I hated it and I didnt want to be left in that room for one second with out my momma.... I obviously survived it but it was difficult time for me.

I hope that Hannah embraces her ability to learn new things.  I hope that the Lord makes her strong against the hardness of this world and helps her see with a "new" light and always an open mind.

I am OBVIOUSLY still quite emotional about my little girl starting school one day and but I know that, that is just another part of learning to let go.  I still believe my own little saying is still so true:

"Letting go doesnt start when you let her spend the night away from home, take her to her first day of school, watch her go on their first date, or walk her down the aisle.... It happens when bring that child into this world... At that point they are no longer only yours..."

It may sound a little depressing and I am sorry if it does, it is truly just me stating a fact and a realization that I had only a year and a half ago.  To be honest though it doesnt help that I hear a Tim McGraw song on the radio and it says it all!!! I am such a sucker when it comes to "real life" songs.

Anyway, I am not going to keep ranting and raving on how sad I am that my baby is growing so quickly and changing every day.  She is a 100 miles a minute and NEVER stops going... I love it!

So here is to all mothers who have experienced taking their child to school the first time (not including daycare) I raise my glass to you.  I hope I have your strength on that special day to be able to smile, say have fun, and I'll see you soon and I love you... Without balling your eyes out infront of a bunch of 5 year olds...   I pray for the strength to at least make it to my car... lol

Turning a Room into a Nursery!

It wasnt too difficult after we got started but it was getting started that was the "fun" part.  But we finally got started yesterday! We had a slight delay because the crib we ordered, which came in just like we'd planned for and when Kyle opened the box on Saturday he found that the instructions had been left out of the box! WHAT?!? I know I wasn't happy and we weren't getting any help from customer service either, so we got quite frustrated.  Finally on Monday Kyle was able to get the instructions emailed to him that day! We got to work after Hannah went to bed and got it all set up! The following pictures show you what we started with and then the (almost) finished product! We still have a few pictures and her name to hang and some more organizing but other than that we are pretty much waiting on Olivia Kate to arrive!

Plan Away....

I've decided that if I want to do an actual birthday for Hannah next year, which I do. Then I am going to have to start planning it now.  No I'm not going to go all out (completely) but I will have maybe a 1 month old and the idea of planning a birthday during that time or Christmas time is not an idea I like having.  So, I am starting to plan her 2nd (OMG!) birthday now that way all the details are completed I just have to worry about baking.

Baking it is because I have decided to do a Milk and Cookies Birthday for her!!! How cute right? I have never heard of those things until just the other day when I was googling birthday parties for toddlers.  I didn't want just a traditional birthday party I wanted to do something fun and different!

I may look all swollen and be sleep deprived but hey its my "baby" girls birthday and I can't go short on her because of my personal issues right!?

So here are a few ideas I've found, some are from Etsy.com which I can't say enough how much I love that site, if it is just for the ideas!

Instead of the party favor I have down below I may just do treat bags with Valentine's Day goodies in them.  I was thinking about decorating with all the valentine's Day decorations (balloons, streamers, table cloths, plates, napkins straws, etc.)

My plan is to make as much of the stuff like the banner, party favors, etc. But tell me what you think? And if you have anymore suggestions, I love suggestions =)

For our drinks we will have Chocolate Milk, 2% Milk and Water!

I am going put the cookies in these jars... 4 gallon size and 4 half gallon size just for the difference!

The banner I hope to successfully make!

Those invites were just too cute! I'll order them for sure!

Possible party favors

Cards to add to the favors!

Olivia Kate's Nursery!

We've taken the plunge in organizing the mess our spare bedroom has turned into.  It will eventually become OK's nursery but until I can sort through all the clothes and hang them up, take boxes out, move the bed and night stands around a bit it wont look like anything but a storage room. We ran to Wal-Mart on Sunday to find some baby hangers to start with and they had none, so that kind of delayed our plan.

Kyle went by a consignment store up town to check out a crib and changing station but it was too scratched up for his preference.  We got online and decided to order a new one (for a really good deal of course!) We hardly buy anything these days if it isn't a good deal.  So it should be here towards the end of this week or beginning of next week!!! SQUEAL! I am too excited this means we've taken another step in the direction of organizing and changing this room into a semi nursery!

We are planning on leaving the bed and at least one night stand in the room, and then when the girls are old enough we will get bunk beds and they can share a room!!! My sister and I did it until I was about 11 or 12 so I know it is possible... Plus, I wouldn't trade those nights of whispering about who knows what and hearing my parents yell at us saying "GO TO SLEEP!!".  Those were some of the best childhood memories.

The crib we've ordered is Espresso in color and it comes with a changing table/mini 2 drawer, 2 shelf dresser!  It is going to look great with the ABC bedding we also purchased online!

We are handing down a lot of Hannah's stuff from her newborn/infant days but I had to buy  a couple new things for this LO.  So one afternoon while we were in Hickory we went by Babies R Us and check out their clearance items/sale items and discontinued items (which are usually further discounted) and found this adorable brown and green blanket with flowers on the corner of it, some swaddling blankets, and a couple of outfits that will be adorable for her to wear home! We also purchased a car seat and a base that is super cute and was $50.00 off! Plus it fits the little Chico stroller we bought a couple months ago (plus! plus!).  I think once we get the room ready we will be set for her to come home! This time has been much easier and definitely less stressful than the last pregnancy!

Minus the gender mix up it's been fabulous! Of course knowing mine and Kyles luck we will bring a baby boy home come December 25ish....  haha! It will definitely be something to laugh about (years down the road lol) But just for my peace of mind in about 8 to 10 weeks we will have yet another ultrasound justtt to double check and make sure we (STILL) have a girl baking in there! I am a planner and if I don't feel 100% about something I will check until I feel 100%!

Spare Bedroom before....

oh the mess....

Her closet is a lot smaller than Hannah's but at this point she doesn't need a huge closet!

This was the car-seat we bought for less than $100.00!!!

Weekend Fun!

A girl I have known since High school and worked with at my first job, BBQ King is getting married on September 24.  Today we had a day for just us girls, we had Meredith's bachelorette party!! It's been such a busy year that I haven't had a chance to catch up with the girls that were there so it was so much fun to see them all and chat about life and all the future comings! Today I realized just how much I had missed them ALL and I really REALLY hope we can get together again soon or at least after the wedding.  These girls were the ones who made me, me! I grew up with them all (in a matter of words) I've known all of them since I was 16 so yes you can say I grew up with them.  We all have changed so much (definitely for the better) some are working, some finishing up school, some are getting married, some are mommys, and some fixing to be mommies! It is so exciting to see how everyone has changed, but sad because we all have some really great memories to reminisce about and we dont get together often enough anymore (when we all had such great times together!) I haven't seen a few of the girls in almost a year and a half! We played a really fun/funny game and they had more for tonight!

Kyle took care of Hannah while I was out but I cant really leave him with her longer than that... her attention span and his as well only last so long when they are around each other.  Meaning Hannah gets bored with Daddy and daddy quits paying close attention to her... broken down a little further tiny fingers and curious minds get into a lot of trouble when you don't pay them attention! haha! But he did good for the few hours he had her!  Here are just a couple pictures from our day, thank goodness I wasn't the designated picture taker because I would have done a terrible job!

Before I left... of course I had to get a picture with my sweetie!

Family portrait!!!

Of course this little cutie came a long with all of us girls!
