Thankful for Day 29!

Day 29~ Today I am thankful for another good doctor's visit!  Olivia is growing (I could have told you that... lol), her heartbeat was in the 140's, I am measuring right at 36 weeks, and my cervix is sofening some the doctor said she could get the tip of her finger through, Olivia is head down and now I'm going every week for check ups..  Not much progress but I am happy to have some! I will be even more thankful is she decides to come on her own that way I wont have to be induced.  Not to mention if she makes her great appearance before 2012 then we will get a nice and much needed tax break! So lots of great things to be thankful for!!!

Thankful for Day 28!!

Day 28~ Today I am thankful for Kyles grandmothers good cooking! We are having dinner over there tonight and we usually do every Monday but I am especially excited because I love home cooked veggies and homemade chicken tenders! Not to mention gathering with the family is a lot of fun too! So it maybe something crazy to be thankful for but I most certainly am!!

Thankful for days 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27!!

I know its crazy but I promised myself I'd at least state what I was thankful for those these 30 days of November so when I look back I will see what I appreciated on that day.  But I also promised myself no computers while I've been off so I was strictly all about Kyle, Hannah and a great time with family gatherings!  So here I am at 11:40 p.m. Sunday night catching up on all that I've skipped out on.  Not to mention how busy my life seems to have gotten... I feel like these next two weeks not including the time after Olivia is here I will be extremely busy!!

Day 22~ On this day I was more than thankful to clock out at 5:30 and say hello to a 5 day weekend!

Day 23~ I was thankful for being off from school and work and I was able to get a lot done that day, including decorating my tree(s) and picking Hannah up a little early so I could spend some quality time with her! Kyle had to work that night so I had dinner with his family who came in town and then get home pack quickly and we left for the mountains around 8:30!

Day 24~ Today was Thanksgiving Day! I am so thankful to still have all four of my grandparents and Kyle has both of his grandmothers to spend this special day with.  I am also thankful for having the amount of food to eat that we did especially knowing there are others who have none.

Day 25~ Today was a very relaxing day.  We did our usual traditional day after Thanksgiving event which was going to the Troutman Dixie Draft Horse sale.  It was incredibly busy and I was having some major cramping the entire time but I was so happy to see the curious look on Hannah's face as she took in all the sights!

Day 26~ Today I was especially thankful for the long naps Hannah takes on the weekends! That girl will take a 2 closer to 3 hour nap and all the things I get done in those 3 hours is amazing!  We were able to get ALL the leaves up around our house and then afterwards we joined my parents for a wonderful dinner at the fish camp!

Day 27~ Today I am thankful for the wonderful church family we have.  Although I feel like I am a career student as well as a mom and work full time building my actual career I am always thankful for the kind gestures they do for us.  Each semester I receive a check to help pay for books and what not and then each semester when exams get closer they give us a goodie basket full of yummy things to eat and then before school starts in August they give us a basket full of school supplies!! WOW!  Like I said I am thankful for them and their support!

Pregnancy Doubts and Pregnancy Updates!!!!

35 weeks means 5 weeks... or less left until Olivia is here!  It also means that Christmas is 5 weeks away too!!

Although I am extremely excited about meeting this new little addition of ours I know that it is only a matter of time that I will have to share her with everyone else in the world!  Dont get me wrong I want her to get her share of loving from friends and family but I know how fast the time flies because I see it with Hannah and I want just a little while longer to love on her myself, get to know her and enjoy her.  Maybe this isnt normal, maybe it is.  I obviously prefer to think it is normal but I can't help but be a little selfish with my girls.  I adore Hannah and I know I will adore her baby sister just as much.  Hannah is such a momma's girl (right now) and I can't help but love that! Call me crazy but I love that she wants me when she gets a "booboo", or when she wakes up in the morning, reads a book, or wants a bath! All those little things squeeze my heart and make it melt like butter!

I guess it's possible that I'm rambling on and on because my hormones have been peaking lately but whatever the reason I have started having these feelings...

I also have started having some anxiety about having the baby.  Anxiety about things like will I be able to give Hannah attention like I do now?  Will I have a shorter temper and lose my patience with Hannah more often because of the baby?  Will Olivia be fussy? What if they both cry at the same time... Who's first? Can I do this? I know to a person who doesnt have kids these things seem a bit like nonsense but to me who already has one child the doubt easily creeps in and gives me this anxious, nervous feeling... THAT I HATE!

I pray about it and I pray that I CAN DO THIS! I am usually overwhelmed by Gods grace and a sense of peace comes over me knowing that I CAN do this.  He pushes those doubts aside and I get this feeling of accomplishment with Hannah and that gives me additional peace because I know I did it with her and that I CAN do it with Olivia as well.

With that being said I'll move right along to my 35 week update (even though its LATE, story of my life)!  :)

How Far Along:
35 weeks and 2 Days

Total Weight Gained:
21 lbs

Maternity Clothes:
Maternity all the way!

Sleep:
I believe (maybe its in my head) but I believe that OK is dropping some
I feel more pressure on my bladder these days so I usually have to get up
once a night to pee!!

Best Moment of the Week:
The plain and simple fact that I only have a 2 day work week because its
THANKSGIVING!!!!

Food Cravings:
Ceral and milk! Frosted Flakes have been my favorite this week!

Food Aversions:
Anything greesy.... I started having the worst stomach aches lately because of my
"wise" choices so I'm staying the heck away from fries, chips, ketchup, burgers,
hotdogs, chili you name it if it looks like it will cause a stomach ache I'm staying away from it!

Stretch marks:
The only battle scars so far are from my lovely
Hannah (I wouldn't mind if that was how it stayed too)

Belly button:
Definitely an outie!

Symptoms:
Acid over production because of OK is growing!  Still having some hip pain,
like when I climb in bed or step over something.

My BP:
98/58

Movement:
Her movement has actually decreased a little bit.  It's like she is sleeping more during the
day now.  I constantly feel her when she has hiccups and I feel huge movements now instead
of the sweet little nudges I'd get just a couple of weeks ago!
Gender:
TEAM PINK! :)

Baby's Name:
Olivia Kate

What I miss:
I still miss sleeping on my belly...  And being able to pick up Hannah with out struggling
and I'm adding another to the list... Being able to walk and talk without being out
of BREATH!

Milestones:
The most exciting news is that I hadnt gained any weight from my last appointment 2 weeks ago! When my OB appointments started I weighed 137 lbs and as of Friday I weighed 158!!!
By my ninth month with Hannah I had gained 40 lbs!!! YIKES!
Also another goal that I have reached which I still have 5 weeks left to meet
it perfectly but that goal was to be able to wear my wedding rings throughout
this pregnancy... So far they still fit like usual! I had to purchase a little $10 fake band
last time because my fingers had gotten so fat lets hope I wont have to waste $10 on that!

Thankful for Day 18, 19, 20, and 21!

Day 18~ Today I was thankful for having Fridays off! I needed that Friday off badly last week.

Day 19~ I was thankful for us to have finished our Christmas shopping! Now I need to wrap everything but I don't have the energy to do that whatsoever!

Day 20~ This day marks 5 weeks or less of my this pregnancy with Olivia Kate! I can AND can't wait to meet this little girl!

Day 21~ Today I am thankful for little things such as not having to be at work until 11:30!! I have class at 9 so it allows me to start my Monday a tiny bit slower! And it is a 2 day work week!

Thankful for Day 17

Day 17~ Today I am thankful for the steady hands that God gave the surgeon yesterday morning who performed back surgery on my dad.  It was outpatient so he was out of there by yesterday afternoon.  He had a pinched sciatic nerve and a little arthritis they had to clean out to reduce the swelling which in turn was pinching his nerve.  He is a little sore but the doctor said he should be moving around decently by Saturday! Praise God for this successful surgery!

Thankful for Day 16

Day 16~ Today I am thankful for the warmer temperatures! 75 degrees in November you cant really beat that! It doesnt really seem like its practically Thanksgiving since it has been so warm.  But as hard and frustrating as it may be trying to figure out what to wear bc the temps change from day to day I am surely soaking up the warmth while it lasts!

Giving Thanks for 30 days!

4 Days behind goodness I'm a slacker or I'm just really busy!

Day 11~ On day 11 I was thankful for finally completing a paper that was due on Monday! wooo whooo! I was thrilled.  I had dreaded typing it all semester and once I got started it flowed really well.  So no more projects due that was it and its done so now I just need to worry about 3 more test and 2 finals and I can officially kick this semester in the butt!

Day 12~ Day 12 was a great day.  Although I didn't get any house work completed I was able to catch up on loads of assignments that are due in the next 2 weeks so now I somewhat ahead of schedule and honestly there is no better feeling that feeling like your ahead! Pawpaw watched Hannah and Kyle washed a few cars for date night cash!

Day 13~ This was the day that made me even more thankful for the fire department!  Long story short Kyle was trying to light a fire in our wood stove because it was going to be a cold night and once it was started none of the smoke would flow up and out of the chimney!!! It was flooding into our house, Kyle shut the door to the wood stove and it started coming out around the door.  Within 30 or 45 minutes the room was filled with smoke, which set the alarms off, which dispatched the fire department which was actually pretty embarrassing... But by the time they checked the chimney to see what was blocking it (which was NOTHING) and putting the small fire out in the wood stove our ENTIRE house smelled like fire! It was full of smoke and with Hannah having pneumonia I really didn't want her to be in that house.  They offered to get the smoke out with some special fan and that worked in about 10 or 15 minutes.  Our house was free of smoke the fire department left and that was when the crazy cleaning lady came out in me!!! I couldn't stand the smell of the smoke and it each room it smelled like a burnt match! YUCK! So I was able to get most of the smell out and by this morning it was barely there! So I realized how thankful I was for our firemen because I don't know how in the world we would have gotten all that smoke out of the house.

Day 14~ This day I am thankful for being busy at work! I have been slammed lately with new responsibilities being added (yay!!) and such, and it has made for a busy past couple of weeks! And I am loving it! I barely notice the day passing because I am so busy and the sooner I get home to my loves the better!

Day 15~ Today I am thankful for antibiotics.  We found out Tuesday, November 4th that my sweet girl had a sinus infection which brought on a cough and at that point she'd had it for a few weeks (not a fever once!).  We were able to help her with the little colds cough remedy but that was it.  The doctor gave her amoxicillin and it seemed like her cough got worse and worse after she started taking it.  I was just not happy, it was making her miserable and she was losing sleep.  So I decided to not wait until Friday (as the dr instructed me) and took her on Tuesday November 8th.  The dr listened to her chest and realized she had developed pneumonia in her right lung!! This was her first bout of pneumonia!!! The cough was horrible and the weasing sounded awful too!  He had her oxygen checked and she was still in the higher range which was great but he said if I would have waited until Friday she would have been sick and feverish! A stronger antibiotic was prescribed and it finally started kicking in on the 14th I noticed a huge decrease in her coughing spells and she just looks like she feels better!  PRAISE THE LORD! So on day 15 I am sooooo thankful for antibiotics that work! ;)

Early Christmas Present!

As I was saying in one of my previous blogs I am so excited about an early Christmas present that Kyle and I are getting... Although I always love early presents ANYTIME but this one in particular has made me a very happy woman/momma!

My parents are having a fence put up in our back yard and front yard!  Words cant describe how excited this makes me!  This was a dream of mine and Kyles that we didnt think would come true for several years from now and then what do you know my parents decided they wanted to "gift" us with this! WOW!

The thought of not having to worry about my girls running to the road which is very heavily traveled and then we also have 2 ponds in the middle of our property and the fence is now between our house and the ponds.  The peace of mind alone is awesome! I've got a few pictures but I'll take some more and add them as they finish it, which should be the beginning of next week!!!

This is the right side of our front yard no fence yet but thought I'd do before and after pictures!

The left side of our yard... Eventually we will have some sort of trees to block that "pretty" blue building!

Part of the fence in the back yard!

Fence in the backyard again

There will be a beautiful fence at the road!

Thankful for Days 9 and 10!

Day 9~ Yesterday I was very thankful for patience!  I was (a still am) more frustrated with a coworker than I had been in a while with anyone!  So just when I needed the patience to deal with her for one more day I was given that patience!  I am always thankful for patience but this particular day in general it was needed and it was also received!

Day 10~ Today I am very thankful for the boss I have, she has allowed me to take this day off from work so I can work/finish my paper that is due for class Monday!  I have truly been blessed with such an awesome boss!  (Maybe day 11 I'll be thankful for finishing my paper! lol)

Thankful for Days 7 and 8!

Okay I am really extremely terrible at blogging everyday! Trust me I have a lot to talk/type about I just don't have a lot of time these days!

So....

Day 7~ Yesterday marked a new week! It was absolutely beautiful, even though it was a Monday! Yesterday wasn't the greatest day for me. So I was having a difficult time trying to figure out what I was truly thankful for.  But I got to thinking and then I realized that I'd left out two very important people to me!  My MIL and FIL! How in the world could I have done that?? Well I am very thankful for them, they volunteer to watch Hannah and even if it's last minute and we need them to watch her they don't mind a bit! I am thankful for the love they have shown me in the past up to now.  And the love they show Hannah everyday!  Since the time change I don't get home until right after dark and Kyle wanted to finish burning the leaves so we called my MIL last minute and she was totally happy to watch her!

Day 8~ Today I am thankful for mine and Kyles early Christmas present my parents have given us.  As a combined gift they are "gifting" us with a fenced in yard!!!! I am more than excited about this! We never even dreamed of getting something like that for several years from now, and here we are with it going up as I type! I'll definitely be sure to post pictures of it very soon.  I can't say thank you (dad & mom) enough because the peace of mind I will have just knowing my girls won't be able to just wander off, or make their way toward to road, it makes ALL the difference!!! So thanks dad and mom you guys have truly made a dream come true for us!

Thankful for Day 5 and 6!

So I was again slack! Whoops!

Day 5~ I am thankful for the laughter of children!  In my opinion it sounds so heavenly! Its like this bubbly noise that is contagious and I can't help but smile or laugh too! Seeing a smile on my little girls face is everything to me! We most certainly have our bad days and for those I am thankful too, only because they make me really appreciate the good ones and those definitely out weigh the bad days!

Day 6~ Today I am thankful for this beautiful day! It feels awesome outside!  I wore a sweater to church and it was too warm for it!  I know these kind of days are coming less and less frequently so I really enjoy them while they last.  Happy November 6th everyone!!

102/58

Oh yes! I think she's going to be a little wiggle worm once she is here!
Gender:
TEAM PINK! :)

Baby's Name:
Olivia Kate

What I miss:
I still miss sleeping on my belly...  And being able to pick up Hannah with out struggling!

Milestones:
The major milestone I've reached is dealing with weight gain.  I know its not
a big deal because I am pregnant but I've been so nervous about having
another big girl like over Hannah's weight which was 8lb 8oz... And Dr. L said
that if she was going to be abnormally big or they didnt think I'd be able to deliver
her I would be measuring big and I'm measuring 32/33 weeks! NORMAL :)

Thankful for Day 4!

Day 4~ Today I am thankful for so much!  Starting with the fact I was able to make a last minute doctors appointment for Hannah, shes had a cough for 3 weeks and it hasn't gotten any better.  Turns out she may just have a sinus infection that never went away, not pneumonia or bronchitis!  I'm also thankful for the doctor appointment that I had today to check up on Olivia! She is growing perfectly and I'm measuring exactly where I need to be! I am thankful for the cat nap I was able to take today with Hannah, I hardly ever NEVER get to do that so it was such a pleasure and I want to cherish these little moments with her because I know when OK gets here those times may be even less seldom than they are now...

Giving Thanks for 30 days!

A friend of mine who also blogs The Broomes had a great idea and because I'm seeing it all over Facebook I thought it would be fun to do the same, except I'll do it on my blog instead of Facebook!

Everyday in the month of November you put what you are thankful for that day.  What a great way to really think about what your thankful for!  So I will try to keep up with this on a daily basis especially since I'm 2 days late doing it, so I'll catch up on the past 2 days!

Day 1~ I am thankful just to see another November! With time flying by so quickly and my days are getting much more busier, sometimes I forget to slow down enough and realize that I am blessed just to see another day.  I need to thank God for allowing me to wake up each morning and enjoy the quiet moments that I am given as well as the busy (loud) ones too.

Day 2~ I am thankful for the AMAZING family I have.  My husband who knows me better than anyone (seriously), he's my best friend and my rock its been 8 years since we first met and I honestly dont remember what life was like without him in it! My parents who have given me the opportunity to do great things (helped with our house, helped with school, helped me become a better woman/mother etc.).  My sister who has always been there for me the times are countless!  She was surely supposed to be my twin because we have a connection like no other.  My brother who continues to make me laugh on a daily basis and has always been a great big brother!  He's someone I know would lend a helping hand to ANYONE if they asked!  I am very thankful for my brother in-law too, he is so positive that sometimes it makes you sick (hahaha), but he has been amazing for my sister and given her the strength that she's needs exactly when she needs it hes a great husband and father and knowing that she will forever be happy with him, that is what I am thankful for!

Day 3~ Now come on you didnt think I'd forget to say thanks for my two sweet girls did you?  They are very, very special to me so of course I had to give them their own day!  Wow, God has really been looking down on me.  First he blesses me beyond measure with my sweet 1st born Hannah, she has been more than a light in my life.  She is my everything.  I get fussed at all the time by my family that I'm doing too much carrying her around (since I've been pregnant) but I know that it's not too much for me.  She's my girl and most definitely a momma's girl.  I can't help but smile at that, I know that one day she won't claim me (lol) so I don't mind spoiling her some!  And now I've been blessed twice with my 2nd little girl Olivia!  She isnt here yet and I maybe ready to pull my hair out after she gets here but I know the joy a child brings and so I will try extra hard to enjoy those first little moments with her and I will certainly enjoy watching her grow.  I am so, so THANKFUL that God has given me these two girls to raise as he see's fit.  THANK YOU!

Happy Halloween!

This post is obviously after Halloween but yet again another one has came and went just like last year and the year(s) before it!  Why is it that the best time of your life seems to fly by?  We had such a great time at Trunk or Treat this year.  Hannah was all about Halloween/trick or treating/candy/food and friends! Our church probably had well over 100 guests attend and that is huge for our church because we are pretty much a small group!

We attended the Spooktacular Fall Fest at the Woodmill Winery on Satruday and that was a lot of fun.  I decided to get Hannah a second costume because the Fest was outside and it had rained the previous day so I really didnt want her to ruin her costume.  And wouldnt you know my very clumsy girl did not trip once in her Tigger costume! Not really a big surprise they will make a liar out of you in a heart beat.  haha

When we got there (which was actually on time), there was hardly anyone dressed up but they arrived shortly after we did and at first Hannah was whining and kept hugging my neck but then would turn around and check out the scary masks.  I kept reassuring her that it was okay they weren't real and I was telling her ooo look how ugly (sort of making a joke out of it) to my surprise it worked! She didn't shed one tear because of those scary masks and I was so proud of her!

So Satruday Hannah was Tigger and oh my word she looked too cute for words.  And then she was a Bumble Honey Bee (I say honey because she is soooo sweet, I know I'm a dork) and I could have eaten her up! I can't believe how Hannah has changed since last Halloween.  She was almost 10 months old with fat rolls and chubby cheeks and now shes 21 months old and she's lean and taller but I have to admit she still has those adorable plump cheeks!
Almost 10 months here!

Almost 21 months here!
