In Need of Advice!

As we round the corner of yet another winter I can't help think of things I should be doing to get myself and my hubbs healthy.  I realize that it's never too late to start good habits and I also realize that breaking the old ones are going to seem just as difficult as starting (and maintaining) the new ones.  I will lay it out there honestly... I am NOT a cook! I actually hate cooking for the simple fact that you have to clean it ALL back up! But I won't rule out cooking because I know ultimately that is the most healthy route to take, especially for my girls.

I believe that if I look at it as if I am doing it for the girls then it will be a somewhat easier transition.  I would love to work out and that sort of thing but I am way to busy! My busy schedule drives me crazy some days.  I get home around 5 after picking up HG & OK and I get home in time to start dinner, wash bottles, make bottles, get outfits picked out for the next day, feed OK in between, give baths (including myself), through a load of laundry in the wash, make lunches, do my last pumping session and then finally I'm in bed.  That kind of schedule doesnt leave much room for working out.  Even if I could squeeeeeeeze it in somewhere I'd feel bad because more than likely something else would need my attention instead.

I knew I'd be a lot busier with another baby around but man! I never anticipated not having any time EVER! I do kill some time once I'm in bed reading for a bit but I can barely hold my eyes open for 30 minutes.

So.... With ALL of that being said if you have any links, recipes, suggestions and how to's please feel free to drop them in the comment box.  I will need step by step instructions or directions!

Thinking/Writng/Typing Randoms....

I've been away for a few days so I'm going to catch up by typing a completely random post....

First things first, this week was officially my last week off with the girls!!!! WAIT! WHAT? I know it's flown by (at least to me).  My boss says that its definitely felt like 3 months to her since I've left, but I feel like its been 3 weeks instead of 12! Trust me I know how lucky I was to be able to have stayed out with OK and Hannah for that amount of time but it is absolutely heartbreaking to leave my babies.  It's a great feeling to know you're missed by your boss but I hate the thought of putting Hannah and Olivia in daycare full time.  I'm definitely looking forward to getting back to my job and bringing home a paycheck again.  I'm not sure when I'll be able to blog again because things are DEFINITELY going to be a lot busier come Monday.  My routine I have now will be thrown for a whirl and we will all struggle with getting it right!

Second random thought of the day is that I've actually made it to 3 months breast feeding Olivia!!!! For someone who thought I'd never make it, I've successfully breastfed and pumped milk to store for 3 whole months! WHOOO! HOOOO! This is a huge thing for me because I wasn't interested in breastfeeding, period.  I think that I didn't put the obligation on myself to do it and I said if it works out then I'll do it until it doesn't.  Now look, 12 weeks and 4 days later I'm still going strong!!! I've calculated that I've roughly stored over 1,300 ounces since day one (OMGGGGG!).  My goal is to give her breast milk until she is 6 months and then when we make it to that point we'll shoot for 9 months.  I am so happy that she will be fed breast milk while in daycare to hopefully help her fight off some of those nasty bugs going around. In turn I won't miss work and we won't have a 35 dollar copay to her doctor's office! Sounds great to me!

Third random thought of the day is the reason I've been gone for most of the week is because I had the worst possible stomach virus on Wednesday! I thought I was dying at about 1 p.m. because my stomach was cramping up due to all the heaving! I also had diarrhea and I continued down that road until yesterday! I was suffering from dehydration that I was having migraines, and my milk supply had decreased over 6 ounces a day! I was literally drying up!  I apologize if this is much to graphic for some of you, but I pray that this bug doesn't get you!!!!  I woke up about 5 a.m. to feed Olivia and that's when the diarrhea started, the vomiting started about 30 minutes later.  I called my wonderful MIL to come over and take care of Olivia because I so didn't want to be around her with this mess.  This bug comes with vomiting, diarrhea, sweats, chills, extreme stomach cramping and loss of appetite.  I dropped 4 pounds in 4 days.  Finally on day five I feel almost 100%, some foods still make me nauseous to eat but I am finally on the mend, FINALLY! And NO... I am not pregnant! My mother asked me the other day when I was talking to her about it.  lol

Fourth random thought of the day.... I am loving some crock pot cooking!!! I am not a great cook actually I don't cook enough to become a great cook, so recently Kyle and I took up crock pot cooking!  I tell ya, crock pots are really one of the greatest inventions! We've made lasagna, stew beef, roast with veggies, chili, pintos.  Our list is continuing to grow and will get even bigger since I'm starting back to work.  It's SO EASY!

Fifth random thought of the day, I'm starting Hannah in horse back riding lessons! I took her to get her feel the other day and I would be saying it lightly if I said she had a blast!!!  I thought she may like dance or gymnastics (and she still could after all she is only 2) but she is an outdoorsy kind of girl.  She loves to have bows in her hair and I love to dress her up but she wants to be outside with all the critters.  She reminds me of myself so much when I was a little girl, meaning nothing scared me (besides roller coasters) I was such a tom boy, fearless.  Watching her ride around (with me and without me) on the horse with a huge smile on her face was priceless!! When it was time to go I said come on Hannah time to go bye, bye... She said noooo, stay here! She would have let me leave her.

Sixth random thought of the day.... Warm weather!!! I'm so loving the beautiful days and warmer weather! I am a spring, summer, fall kind of girl!!! But if I have to deal with 3 or 4 months of wintery cold days then I'm okay with that.  It makes me love the warm sunny days that much more.  I can't wait to get Hannah to a pool this summer she's going to love it (me too)!  We're planning a week long beach trip in August and I'm about to pop with excitement.  Our heart is also in the winding roads in the mountains so we plan on making tons of weekend trips up there as well.

Warm weather also means... School, seventh random thought of the day.  I still have that dream of getting my bachelors degree in business administration.  So I'll slowly make my way to it one or two classes at a time and I know I will eventually walk across the stage at GWU and be handed the one thing I've worked years towards!!! What a rewarding feeling that will be!!

Finally, eighth and last random thought of the day, dieting.  I hate, despise, detest, dislike, loathe, you name it that is how I feel about dieting!! Pretty bad huh? Well, I don't mind changing up my diet a tad bit here and there.  But I can't go hard core and cut out this or that.  I want to still enjoy what I eat when I eat it.  If I want to eat less of something then that's what I do, if I want to splurge every now and then, then I do. I do want to be healthier but I'll go about doing it by eating less not cutting out!

Well thanks for visiting :)) Wish me luck on my first day back to work and say a small prayer for me that I'll not only hear the alarm clock but that I'll get up! Bye for now.

My Scary Wednesday!

I was on my way to class Wednesday morning just like usual.  The sun was out and bright as ever, I remember thinking man I'm glad its to my back and not blinding me.  I was at a stop light on 74 in Shelby there were about 15 to 20 cars in front of me.  I was actually running later than usual, my class doesn't start until 9 but I like to get there early to catch up on reading and get caught up on assignments.  Early I mean I would prefer to leave my house around 6:30 in order to get to GWU by 7:30 plus I beat school traffic!

Well, this morning it was cool and crisp and I just didn't get moving like I should have been.  I remember calling my sister to talk because I was sitting in traffic and getting really sleepy.  She didn't answer... About the time I looked down to set my phone in the center console I heard the squeal of tires on asphalt... I thought to myself, as I tensed up (which you should NEVER do... unless you want to be sore) Oh good Lord please don't let this happen again!! If you look at my previous posts back in April, click here I was in an accident where someone rear-ended me! I swear I must have a target on my car it doesn't matter what car I drive people aim for it! ha-ha...

I didn't even have time to look in my rear view mirror before I felt the jolt of being hit by another persons car.  I think my brain was stuck in delay mode for maybe 5 seconds and I was brought back to reality when I saw the car that hit me pull around to the right of me and pull off on the side of the road.  I too pulled off to the side in the grass in front of him and I again thoughts passed through my head that the grass was wet and slick, was I going to be able to get off this slope I've driven into.  Crazy random thoughts I had and I actually remembered them!

I climb out of my car and look at the car that hit me, that's when I realized he didn't hit me, it was the lady behind him who hit him and then hit me!! She was going at least 55 mph when she barreled into him!  He said he saw her coming and she wasn't slowing down so he tried to pull into the other lane... Thank goodness he didn't! But he did turn his wheels enough that he actually was the one who ended up taking most of the impact.  I looked at their cars, the back end of his was smashed, he was driving a Honda Pilot and she was driving a KIA Soul.  Evidently at the last second she tried to pull around him to prevent from hitting him and ended up pushing him out of the way and then hitting me.  The metal down the left (front) side of her car was almost peeled completely back to the front door.  There was debris all over the road, shards of plastic and metal shards and glass pieces.  Neither of the cars were drivable after that, except mine.  So I know my guardian angel was watching over me with extra care that day!

I called Kyle and he wanted me and the baby to get checked out so I figured I'd call my doctor's office and see if they could squeeze me in.  They gave me orders to go straight to the triage at the Birth Place in Gastonia because they would need to monitor me/the baby and make sure everything was okay.  That was when I began to freak out a little bit.  I held it together long enough to get the information I needed for the wreck from the police officers and then as I was on my way to the hospital I began crying (not the best thing to do while driving) but Kyle reassured me and told me he was going to meet me there.  I calmed down and go to the hospital and walked up to triage.

The nurses there were all super nice and showed me my "room" which was super small!  The nurse told me to undress and she would hook me up to the monitors.  She also informed me that I was going to have to stay there and get monitored for at least 4 hours!!! WHAT?! I wasn't prepared for that at all!  Don't get me wrong I was glad they wanted to watch Olivia's heartbeat but dang 4 hours +? That seems like foreverrrrrr! But we obviously weren't going to leave! Miss Olivia was monitored for 4 hours and 20 minutes and then I finally was able to get dressed and get discharged!  She had a strong heartbeat in the 140's no decels and was doing perfect! I however, went home and rested for the rest of the evening.  The soreness oddly didn't kick in until late that night and the pain I was in around my back/waist area and around my rib cage woke me up in tears!!! I took the only pain remedy I could have (Tylenol) and took a hot shower.  I was able to relax my muscles enough to get some rest.

I told Kyle that I was kind of surprised how sore I was, I felt like they didn't hit me that hard but I guess when your body is kind of out of its norm in the first place it doesn't take much.  I am just thankful that I wasn't (or Olivia of course) wasn't hurt worse and the knowing it came very close to being a lot worse scares me but I also am so thankful to the Lord! He has protected us once again!

So since I was unable to finish up my 30 days of thanks in November I am going to finish them on here!

Day 30~ I was thankful for being protected by the good Lord and my sweet baby girl is doing perfect from our little bump up!!

This week...

A lot of things are going on for sure... My mom is out of town until July 13, its only been 1 week and 2 days since she left and I feel like its been f.o.r.e.v.e.r. I miss her so much and I want her to be home like.. NOW! Monday: 1st day of the start of my new schedule (4, 10 hour days)... Ive only been working 32-33 hours a week so this makes for a longgg week (but I'll be loving that paycheck!)
Tuesday: Babysat my sweet nephew after work, he and Hannah played and played and played (I'm thinking... wow this is what it will be like with 2 kids...) SHOOT ME haha no, but they will turn a room into a disaster quickly... as of today Hannah's room still looks like a bomb went off in there!
Wednesday: Had dinner with my brother and sister at Beans, Burgers, and Brew (I think that is its name.. now) (If you are pretty familiar with Lincolnton it is where Holts used to be almost beside BBQ King) it was Delicious! They have great subs and will even heat them up for ya too! YUM! Their Granola Fruit Bowl is to die for too! Just an FYI!
Thursday: Hopefully nothing but me and Hannah time maybe dinner with my Pop's and that is IT! I refuse to do anything else this afternoon... REFUSE! ha!
Friday: Clean a house, baby doctor appt, and then.... PF Changs and Bad Teacher with my Hunny! Yes... a night where we (me and kyle only) (Sorry Hannah, mommy and daddy love you but its nice to not have to cut up food into tiny pieces and watch you put it on the floor, wait for you to have your almost usual public breakdown, or change your diaper... for a few hours anyway!)
Saturday: Get ready here it is...... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! I plan to spend the day with my family of 3 and that is it! We have been going NON stop for practically month and a half of weekends and to say we will have one weekend day, with no plans (plus its a Saturday) and just ROCKS!
