Passing!

Just in case you all were wondering, I might fill you in!
I had my glucose test last Friday and I HATE that mess you have to drink.
First of all I had to drink in a five to ten minute time frame so I tried to chug it
not really possible considering I was about to gag on every swallow! Well
I ended up drinking it in five minutes and had to wait an hour before they could
do blood work.  I got a phone call yesterday (after the hours of the office GO FIGURE)
and I just knew it was going to be that I had failed the glucose test and I'd have to
come in for the dreadful three hour test.  My nerves and the anticipation were killing me,
as soon as they opened I called them this morning and praise the Lord,

I PASSED IT!!!

Ahhhh no more worries on that part!

Like I said just in case you were wondering! :)

Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to September means quite a few things:

1.) I have 9 weeks of class left this semester!! Whoop! Whoop!

2.) We have officially said goodbye to summer and hello to fall

3.) The Boger City Pumpkin Patch!!! Oh yes!

4.) I am officially 7 months pregnant on October 2nd

5.) Ultimately I only have 12 weeks left until Olivia Kate arrives (eeek!)

6.) Sweater weather... Although come to think of it, I have NO sweaters that fit this belly...

7.) Halloween/Trick-or-Treat... It will be our first adventure trick-or-treating with Hannah Grace!

8.) Seeing Hannah dressed up in that cute adorable little bumble bee costume.

9.) Thanksgiving... which in reality maybe the only family event I will be able to attend considering my due date...

10.) Christmas decorations... I must be crazy to try and attempt this one but I just can't stand the thought of not putting them up because of my pregnant self!

11.) The Rogam shot in my a$$ ughhhhh!  I am O- and Kyle is O+, well Hannah came out O+  so therefore I have to get the Rogam shot so my body doesn't attack this baby (in the remaining weeks) like its a foreign object...

12.) Maternity Leave... It starts December 27th and I am thrilled!!! Who wouldn't be knowing they were looking at practically a 12 week vacation??? That's what I thought!

13.) Maternity pictures are actually the first day of October... (Yippie!!) I didn't do any with my previous pregnancy so I'm pretty excited about doing them with this one!

14.) Christmas Pictures (my favorite!)

15.) A new year filled with all kinds of new beginnings!

I Believe...

I got this off of an email that was sent to me today... It really made me think about some things and I hope you enjoy reading it and I hope it makes you think about someone or something in particular. :)

A Birth Certificate shows that we were born A Death Certificate shows that we died Pictures show that we live!

I Believe...
That just because two people argue,
It doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
It doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if
We understand that friends change.

I Believe....
That no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you,
every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe.....
That true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.

I Believe...
That you can do something in an instant
That will give you heartache for life.

I Believe....
That it's taking me a long time
To become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with Loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe....
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe....
That we are responsible for what
We do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe....
That heroes are the people
who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done,
regardless of the consequences.

I Believe....
That my best friend and I
can do anything or nothing
and have the best time..

I Believe....
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're
down will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry
I have the right to be angry, but that
doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had A ND what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough,
to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn
to forgive yourself.

I Believe...
That no matter how bad
your heart is broken,
the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe....
That our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are, but,
we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe...
That you shouldn't be
so eager to find out a secret.
It could change your life forever.

I Believe....
Two people can look at the exact same
Thing and see something totally different.

I Believe...
That your life can be changed
in a matter of hours
by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...
That even when you think
you have no more to give,
When a friend cries out to you,
you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
That credentials on the wall
do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe...
That the people you care about
most in life are taken from you too soon.

I Believe...
That you should send this to
all of the people that you believe in.
I just did.

'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the most of everything they have.

Hmmmm...

I was updating my calendar this morning and as I was going through the remaining months left in this year I added all the necessary dates needed (test, dates for assignments, dr. appts, weekend events and everything really) Well I got to December of course not only is that a big month because I am due on the 25th, but it is Christmas! It is also going to be a very stressful month I've realized too... I have 2 finals that month one is 2 weeks before my due date the other is 11 days before and that is the final I have to drive to GW to take, we have 3 Christmas family gatherings before the 24th, and I have to get Hannah ready for Christmas/Santa Claus, along with wrapping gifts and putting out Christmas decorations! Of course I plan to do only a handful of these things before December like putting out decorations and wrapping gifts but the rest obviously has to be taken care of in December.

To say I am stressing doesn't quite explain the amount of stress I have on getting it all completed... and completed in the right way.  My religion final is on the 14th of December and I'm not sure I will be thinking about the Old Testament to much 11 days before I'm due so I'm trying to figure out how in the world I will feel up to studying for it.  I guess time will tell but right now all I can do is pray she doesn't decide to come 2 weeks early at this point.  Say a few small prayers for me that I keep my sanity and I can get all of my "wish list" tasks done in the meantime! Thanks :)

Meredith's Bridal Luncheon!

Saturday we attended a bridal luncheon for a good friend of mine, Meredith Gilleland! The luncheon was at a fabulous restaurant called The Sweezy House it is in or towards Fallston, NC.  The restaurant is only open for dinner (I think) but if you've never eaten there it is a must!!!

It takes about an hour to get there from my house so we hardly ever go but when we do, we go hungry and we definitely go expecting to splurge a little bit!

Anyway, we had this luncheon in honor of Meredith and Pedro getting married in less than 2 weeks! I cant believe it time is just flying by! Meredith looked beautiful and I got to see some of the other bridesmaids again as well! My sister and I rode together so we were practically baby free (minus the one in the oven).  It was a great afternoon and I cant wait to see Meredith all dressed up on her big day! The picture above was a card full of fun games to play and we had such a good time getting a laugh out of some of our answers as well as hers!

Meredith and I!

April and Meredith

Another bridesmaid is pregnant as well and she is exactly one month behind me! She is having a little boy though and his name will be Montgomery Ty (love that name) we cant wait to get some pictures together of our little cuties once they are here!
Me = 6 months, April = 5 months

Thankful for a Weekend with Family! (LBD weekend)

This post is most definitely late but.... Besides that slight fact we had quite an eventful weekend but it was a relaxing and much needed weekend as well.  We got ourselves into such a routine with work, my classes, and our every day life responsibilities that none of us realized how much we needed just a weekend to get together and be hang out as a family with nothing else to worry about.

Friday was most definitely hectic! I had class at 9 which put me back in lincolnton around 11 and then I had a hair appointment at 12 so I skipped lunch and opted for a low fat iced coffee instead! (I know not a healthy substitute at all, but it was low fat hehe!) I didn't get finished with that until around 3:30 and Kyle gets home from work around 4:30.  I ran in Wal-Mart quickly to pick up a few items and then I decided to pick Hannah up early since I was in that direction.  We got home at 4:20 I started throwing some things together to pack.  Needless to say we actually left the house around 5:30.  We were in blowing rock by 7 and in Jefferson by 7:30 we met Kyles parents and brother for dinner at the Winners Circle.  Afterwards we headed to the house, unloaded everything and enjoyed the rest of the night.

Saturday couldn't have come quick enough, I had such a restless night and I was miserable from the humidity in the house.  Me and Hannah got up at 6:30 played and watched T.V. Kyle wasnt up to long after that and was able to keep Hannah occupied while I showered and got ready for the day.  We met my parents, sister, Braylon, my brother and a couple of his friends for breakfast.  Lee and his friends rode their motorcycles on the parkway and such so they did their own thing.  However, we followed my parents to a place called The Cabin Store.  This place was beautiful and had tons of little nic-nacs that would go perfectly with a log home or a country style home.  Fortunately we made no purchases and I was extremely nervous to even let Hannah out of my sight because the prices were super ridiculously high to say in the least!  We decided to wait outside while everyone else was shopping around.  About two hours later we visited my Grandparents it was so great to see them!  It had been some time since we saw them last so I was really glad to get to hug their necks!  My grandad hasn't changed one bit! He still loves to give kids candy, he found a ring pop... (You know the kind that has the plastic ring at the bottom of it and you stick in on your finger and lick away its shaped like a huge colored diamond, when you lick it for longer than 5 minutes you get spit all over your fingers... I know gross right?!) Haven t had one of those in YEARS... Anyway, he found one and gave it to Hannah (sounds sweet right?) Well.... Let me just say suckers of any sort do not go well with an already drool-y child (teething).  I had to completely strip her of her clothes so I could maybe keep them from getting messed up, but it was too late, she had sticky drool EVERYWHERE! Evidently, she thought that it would be a great idea to run around without her diaper on too.  She was completely naked and loved every minute of it!  Before we left we had to give her a good bath to get all the sticky off of her.  We didn't bring an extra change of clothes with us so she had to ride back to the mountain house with just a diaper on! We had such a great time and a lot of laughs because lets face it my kid is hilarious! lol

Saturday night we had the fan on and bumped the air down a degree or two and so I slept wonderfully that night! Hannah did too she didn't make a peep until about 6:45 Sunday morning.  I was perfectly fine with getting up (no sense in wasting the day right?!).  I got my shower the night before which gave me more morning playtime with my girl! Sunday we didn't meet up with my parents until around 10:30ish and so it was nice to take our time getting ready.  My dad rode his motorcycle with my brother and his friends so we visited with my grandparents for a little while, we decided not to stay too long because Grandpa wasn't feeling well.  We headed back to the mountain house to grab some lunch pack up and get home!

It was a very nice weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed spending some much needed time with my family.  Hannah was such a little angel and I have missed her being so sweet that I forgot how sweet she could be!  With her eye teeth coming in she hasn't been a very happy little girl.  But one finally broke through the skin and I see the others are turning the gum white on the tip so hopefully most the pain is gone for a while.

Yesterday (Labor Day) we decided to start shopping early for Christmas presents.  It was really hard to get into it because of all the fall decorations and Halloween stuff out! I really wanted to get a head start because I will be soooo very pregnant come the actual "Christmas shopping time" and the thought of me getting mixed in with that crowd makes me EXTREMELY nervous! I cant wait to buy Hannah some stuff, I told Kyle to prepare for me to go a little crazy with Hannah this year... I cant help it, it is her last year of ripping open presents and having all the attention before her baby sister comes.  I want to make this one extra special for her!

We also found Hannah's costume for Halloween this year! It is so cute, they dont have a lot of options for kids sizes under 2T so we went with another cute bug! She is going to be a Bee this year! And a cute Bee at that.

A Letter to Hannah!

Dear Hannah,

You are growing up so fast, I wish that I could slow time down and
savor every moment in its truest sense!
God, has blessed me with more that these words can describe and
everyday I am so much more thankful than the last.  We have had
some exciting learning experiences.  Life with you in it seems
so complete.

Times are changing quickly and as we speak those times will be a
memory in the past.  How do I thank God for showing me that
there are things worth living for?  How can I show my gratitude to Him
for opening my eyes and realizing that my world is no longer about me,
it is about you.

Since the day you were born I haven't experienced anything more spectacular.
You are a true miracle, no I didn't have any complications during my pregnancy
with you, but you were given to me. When something that could have been
so easily taken away God decided to let you be mine.  I realize how precious
our times are together and I know I am guilty of taking advantage of our
time together.  But our Lord brings be back down and opens my eyes yet again
and when I open my eyes I see you!

You are one of the reasons I am living the life I have been given, I feel my purpose is to
help you become a woman of God and to show others that even in a world
where there is so much darkness, if you look into a child's eyes you will instantly
see light and beauty.  For we were made in God's image, man and woman alike.

I suspect every mother/father goes through this but there are days when I could just
scream all day long trying to get you to understand that "no means no".
But then there are days where when I look at you I still cant believe you are
mine...

Time is coming to an end where it is just you, me and daddy, but that is okay.
I know that your baby sister will love you dearly, look up to you, even though you will fight
and feel like you hate each other.  Times will get tough where you feel like you need
no one but your sister.  A sisters bond is a blessing, when you feel like you need
someone to talk to, someone who understands, who listens and who will
make sense of the mess you've created or unfortunately been put into, it will
be your sister that will help you see things more clearly.

My sweet Hannah you are only a year and a half old and I feel like my life
has completely changed, I feel like because of you my faith and hope
has been restored.  Your daddy is my rock and I am ever so grateful for
him.  After all he did give me you! Thank you Hannah for opening my
eyes and seeing past the bad.  You have not a worry in the world yet,
you are so innocent and no one has hurt you.  How I wish I could
keep it that way...

You will learn, you are learning that life isn't always beautiful but its
a beautiful
ride....

I pray day in and day out that you continue to grow to know our Lord and you continue to worship him with every fiber of your being!  You can and will accomplish all things through Christ who strengthens you!

I love you baby,
Momma

This Labor Day Weekend!

First of all let me say..... HAPPY SEPTEMBER!

This weekend we have decided to take a trip up the mountain to visit my grandparents! We are so excited! Unfortunately if I can't get any school work done while we are up there we will have to leave to come home on Saturday! :( I am trying so hard (maybe too hard) to stay caught up in my classes and it takes a lot of time and a lot of effort!

Friday is going to be a busy day for us! I have class at 9, a hair appointment at 12 and then hopefully I will have time to pack and get things ready to go! I have to get a few things at the store but hopefully I can squeeze that in before I pick Hannah up from daycare too!

It is supposed to be cooler here in Lincolnton so I am thinking maybe 5 to 10 degrees cooler than that up there... Especially at night so I may have to pull the jackets out!

If all goes "as planned" then I will try to take TONS of pictures so I can post them when we return! I have been so slack in the picture taking department... Since I have my Android it is so easy just to snap a picture here and there and upload it without any issues or it taking forever so I have replaced my camera with my phone camera! I honestly can't stand it, so a change NEEDS to be made... Hey maybe I'll treat myself to a new camera for Christmas and I will be more motivated to use it??? I think sooooo!

I hope everyone has a great and blessed weekend whatever your plans may be!
